At the heart of the project was the development of the young peoples' confidence and project management skills that they could then apply to future employment opportunities.
We encouraged youth leadership from the start by giving them ownership of the project and establishing a monthly 'Project Squad'. This required members to develop their organisational skills and team work.
Support and funding
"People grew to like history and heritage. At first, they were just there for the social aspect. Heritage was growing on them whereas I was probably the opposite, I was there for the history and the social aspect grew on me".
We are hugely grateful for the support of these organisations, without which the project would not have been possible.
